Amazon Delivery Straight to Your Door in 30 Minutes or Less?
Amazon.com claimed that in 2015, your orders could be delivered locally straight to your door within as little as 30 minutes after you order – By drones!
It never happened. But if this was ever really going to happen as early as this year, there were quite a few major issues and concerns that would need to have been worked out first.
Anthony Carboni of DNews explained at the time Amazon’s high-flying idea for faster, almost instant, deliveries, and whether there was any hope of it ever getting past legislators. Or was it destined to just crash and burn before even taking off?
Everything from hacking, theft (of the drones or their deliveries), to safety issues would need to have been addressed, and still will, if Amazon’s plan is ever to get off the ground…
To be fair to Amazon, it may still happen in some form, in the future there may yet be virtually instant Amazon delivery straight to your door, but not this year!
